This chapter happenes after the cultural revolution and it take place in Ji-Li's school and An-Yi's house.
At this time, the Chairman Mao (Leader of China) decides to not have an education.

In this Chapter, in Ji-Li's school, Ji-Li heards that she doesn't have to take a test for next summer and because of that everyone in her class and her school will automaticaly will pass the test. After few days, Ji-Li meets a chance to go to a good school which is way better than the school that Ji-Li used to go. And she got really happy and she got suprised that she gets to go to the better school even though she wasn't a red successors. An-Yi who is Ji-Li's best friend got a disease and she had to stay home for few days, after Ji-Li heards that she is sick, she goes to her house and tell her about the school stuff. They went outside to buy something and they heard that she can't go to the school anymore and they get really depresed.

This chapter is important to the story because by reading this chapter (Graduation) I could see that how harsh it would be for not having an education and I also could learn more about Ji-Li's life.
